Indian Accent Mumbai Unveils A New 7-Course Tasting Menu

A Celebration of Indian Flavours and Seasonal Ingredients

Indian Accent Mumbai, known for its inventive approach to modern Indian cuisine, has unveiled a brand-new 7-course tasting menu. Crafted by Head Chef Rijul Gulati, the menu brings together the rich flavours of India with a contemporary twist, just in time for the festive season. Located in the heart of Mumbai at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, this culinary experience promises to take diners on a journey through the streets of India, reimagined with precision and creativity.

The tasting menu opens with a series of bite-sized snacks inspired by India's vibrant street food culture. Diners can savour the indori khopra pattice paired with tamarind and water chestnut, the ladakhi apricot samosa with charred coriander, and the classic raj kachori, served with lentil salad and mint motichoor. These appetizers set the tone for a meal that combines tradition with innovation.

Seafood lovers will enjoy the kanyakumari crab served with crisp idiappam and the aromatic pink peppercorn rasam, creating a delightful balance of sweetness and spice. For meat enthusiasts, the bihari tash meat, slow-cooked in mustard oil and served on sattu roti, offers a rich, smoky depth of flavour.

Vegetarians are in for a treat as well, with options like mattar paneer with tomato raisin and tamarind, and tawa jackfruiton sattu roti with ole chutney. The inclusion of dishes like kulfi sorbet ensures a refreshing interlude before moving to the main course.

The main courses offer a choice between the gongura seabass with asparagus and red onion salan, and the indulgent kashmiri milk lamb, paired with nadru shaami (lotus root patties). Vegetarian diners can enjoy creative dishes like tempered ricotta vada served with pao bhaji, and cauliflower kofta with lotus seed, quinoa pulao, and goji berry curry. Signature sides like the iconic black dairy dal, smoked eggplant raita, and the restaurant’s famous kulchas round out the savoury offerings.

For dessert, the tasting menu offers a sweet finale that highlights Indian flavours with a modern twist. Diners can relish the mahabaleshwar strawberry cassata made with seasonal strawberries, or the playful kaju katli cannoli filled with cashew fudge. The meal concludes with a unique take on cookies and cream – soft baked chocolate, chironji, and basundi.

Set against the elegant backdrop of Indian Accent Mumbai, this tasting menu is a perfect blend of creativity and tradition. Chef Rijul Gulati’s meticulous attention to detail and the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients create an unforgettable dining experience.
